Why make an Islamic Will?

Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him.” (Bukhari).

As a Muslim, you must distribute your wealth after you die according to the sharia (Islamic law).

If you live in the UK, then having a Will is a must. This is because if you die without one, your assets will be distributed according to domestic law, not Islamic law.

You need to have a Will that complies with both English law and Islamic law in order for it to be both valid in the UK and in accordance with Islam.

Who is IFG Wills?

IFG Wills is IslamicFinanceGuru’s Islamic Will-writing service. It’s ordinarily a paid service (the Standard Will costs £98).

Is it really free?

IFG Wills has agreed to offer Muslim Charity donors an Islamic Will for free during Ramadan 2021.

Will this always be available to Muslim Charity donors?

No! So make sure to make your Will because from March onwards an IFG Will will cost Muslim Charity donors the standard £98.

What if things are going to change in the future?

That’s fine. IFGWills allows unlimited amendments to their Wills for just £10 a year. So submit your Will form now.

Are my personal details safe?

All information is stored securely on Enterprise-grade servers and is handled strictly in line with their privacy policy. Only details necessary for drafting your Will are required.

Why do they have a question about my bank account/assets?

Your family need to be able to find all of your assets- one of the mainstream Will writers has stated that, on average, £9,700 is lost in undiscovered assets where a Will is not made. To tackle this, IFG Wills includes a ledger of your assets so you don’t have to disclose that information during your lifetime. Just input what you are comfortable providing and, so long as you’re confident all your assets can be found by your executors based on what you list, the record of your assets will serve its purpose.

Do I have the time?

The online form is designed to take just 20 minutes and the average time for completion reflects this. If you’re stuck on some details, you can submit the form without it and provide it later.

Are IFG Wills legally binding?

Yes – our Wills are fully legal and binding in England & Wales. We are fully qualified and registered solicitors.
